Research for the Angela Mortimer plc blue book 2012 employment survey is currently underway and will be published and available from April 2012.

The 2011 edition

‘the blue book’ in 2011 included data from surveys conducted with 939 candidates and 784 organisations - highlighting the prime drivers for candidates moving jobs and the key employment benefits offered by organisations.

The commentary for the 2011 edition was written by Steven Levinson, former economics correspondent for the BBC and Channel 4 and award winning business journalist.

Findings from 'the blue book' 2011 include:

• 65% of companies believe their recruitment process is efficient, however 68% of companies said sourcing ‘Quality Candidates’ still remained an issue.
• 63% of companies do not have a formal Graduate programme.
• 25% of candidates had been made redundant in the previous year and 24% had taken on more responsibility without any salary increase.
• In 2010 50% of candidates said they wanted to work for an ethical organisation. In 2011 this rose to 75%.
