The Angela Mortimer blue book 2010, the country’s largest survey of employee attitudes, has identified a number of key issues that most organisations have overlooked or are reluctant to accept.

• 50% of organisations struggled to find quality candidates despite a perceived flood of talent throughout 2009.
• 91% did not view counter-offers as a threat to their recruitment and lost real talent as a direct result.
• 92% are still not ‘planning’ to up-skill in 2010 despite the fact that opportunity has potentially been lost.
• Only 22% of employees felt their company looked after them during the recession.
